Accountant & Bookkeeping Assistant
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accountant & Bookkeeping Assistant to join our Operations Team. This role focuses on supporting daily accounting, bookkeeping, and administrative functions. The ideal candidate will assist with maintaining accurate financial records, processing transactions, and supporting the accounting team with general administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with day-to-day accounting and bookkeeping activities
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processing
- Enter invoices, expenses, and financial data into accounting systems
- Maintain organized financial records and documentation
- Assist with journal entries and general ledger updates
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes
- Perform account reconciliations
- Assist with payroll data entry and record maintenance
- Help prepare financial reports and summaries
- Review financial information for accuracy and completeness
- Provide administrative support to the accounting and operations teams
- Assist with audit preparation and supporting documentation
- Maintain vendor and client records
- Perform other accounting and administrative duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field preferred
- 1–5 years of accounting, bookkeeping, or administrative experience
- Basic understanding of accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Willingness to learn and grow in an accounting role
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ERP or accounting systems
- Experience supporting bookkeeping or administrative functions
- Experience with Deltek Vantagepoint is considered an asset
- Familiarity with U.S. tax regulations and compliance requirements is considered an asset
